Not so long ago I heard the phrase "Building in public" for the first time and immediately my sacral responded with "YES!" and the curiosity to see if it meant what I instinctively thought it did.
So here's a definition Googled provided which I resonated with:
Building in public (BIP) is the practice of sharing stories about how products or services were — and are — being developed, with the aim of inspiring and engaging with like-minded people.
I think that pretty well captures my original blog about my Human Design Experiment which started the name ManifestingGenerators.com
After creating the ManifestingGenerators.com Facebook Group I fell into a steady groove of publicly sharing my journey which often consisted of real life and sometimes raw examples of when I messed up in the application of Strategy & Authority (S&A) and the lessons I learned.
Even though I liked sharing those stories I stopped for quite a long time while I was exploring and experimenting with my purpose.
So in this post I'd like to share that while working on a community concept called Purpose Playground, I developed a powerful AI tool called Gene Keys Express AI. While it was a MASSIVE shortcut for me in contemplating my Gene Keys (sometimes literally taking 60 minutes instead of hours/days/weeks/months to make the leap from the shadow to the gift), I had simply considered it to be a "supporting tool" in my mentor toolbox.

After I made the leap on 3x major life patterns in the space of just 24 hours, I made a big mistake in thinking that I should take a detour and start selling access to Gene Keys Express AI or its generated reports instead. This was a mistake because while I enjoyed the challenge of building the AI solution, I have zero passion for walking someone else through the contemplation process. Gene Keys Express AI was and still is a supporting tool for pinpointing a Purpose Playground member's shadow to contemplate.
How it works
You come armed with a list of lifelong patterns and your Gene Keys chart. Using my AI tool, I can quickly tell you:
- Which Gene Keys Sequences and Spheres each pattern relates to.
- What core beliefs are underlying each pattern.
- Examples for how each cryptic or vague shadow description is showing up in your life and how it has been serving you.
You walk away with a PDF of insights you can use to Acknowledge, Accept, and Embrace each Shadow and then contemplate to make the leap to the Gift.
The patterns I've observed
I've hosted MANY Purpose Of Work sessions and it was becoming clearly evident that the shadow work NEEDS to precede your search for purpose. If it doesn't, either you:
- Won't recognize your Zones of Genius.
- Will really struggle to express it publicly, fearing what people will think of you.
- Will be too impatient to give it the time it needs to bear fruit.
- Will be too close minded to recognize the easiest path to monetization.
I'm speaking from exhaustive experience. I've been struggling for years and it's only after each Gene Key shift that the next piece of the puzzle dropped into place.
My shadow transformations in 24 hours
In May 2024, I came to understand why I felt drawn to charge low prices so I could sell at high volume: Because I feared rejection! (Brand GK 20.4)
In the same day my Vocation of GK 62.2 pointed out my pattern of Analysis/Paralysis. After the process, I now understand that not everything needs to be perfectly planned before I start, I am capable to adapt on the fly and actually leverage my client's feedback to enhance the solution better than I could have planned it.
The next morning I worked through GK 4.1 in EQ (Emotional Quotient) of the Venus Sequence and experienced another huge shift. My new understanding and mantra: "Painful comments come from painful places. Don't take it personally."
